Honda Motor, Japan’s second-largest automaker, has announced plans to launch six next-generation electric vehicle (EV) models under its new Ye brand in China by 2027. The company also intends to roll out a total of 10 Honda-brand EV models in China by 2027, as part of its goal to have EVs make up 100 percent of its automobile sales in the country by 2035.

Ye EVs tailored for Chinese market
The Ye brand will feature a new “H mark” to represent Honda’s next-generation EVs. The company says these new models are designed to offer more value to customers in China and will be based on a newly developed dedicated EV platform tailored for the Chinese market.
The first two Ye models are crossovers, the Ye P7 and Ye S7, which will go on sale by the end of this year. These next-generation EVs will be offered in both single and dual-motor 4WD versions, with the rear-wheel-drive variant designed to offer “sporty and crisp handling,” and the 4WD model providing more power and responsive handling.
Inside, Honda’s new EVs will feature LED lights on the instrument panel and door panels that change based on AI. The Ye P7 is described as “expressing a seamless, sophisticated and smart sense of the future,” while the Ye S7 represents a “more emotional sense of the future that stimulates people who see the vehicle.”
In addition to the Ye P7 and Ye S7, Honda has also unveiled the Ye GT Concept, which features a sleek, low-riding silhouette. The interior is designed to immerse the driver like a race car, and the vehicle will be the first Honda to feature a far-focus display, giving the sense of a private theater. The electric GT is set to go on sale by the end of 2025.
Earlier this year, Honda unveiled its “Honda 0 Series” EVs and two concept models at the CES trade show in Las Vegas.
