Ferrari, the Italian luxury sports car manufacturer, is gearing up to unveil its first fully electric sports car. The highly anticipated EV is set to make its debut by the end of this year, as confirmed by CEO Benedetto Vigna.

The electric sports car from Ferrari is on track to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the company making significant progress in its electrification efforts. Vigna stated that the company has taken a “big-big step forward” in its electric vehicle development late last year.

A premium price tag for the first Ferrari EV

As expected from the prestigious brand, the first all-electric Ferrari will come with a premium price tag. According to Reuters, the initial Ferrari EV sports car will cost at least $535,000 (EUR500,000), placing it well above the average luxury EV selling price of around $375,000 (EUR350,000).

Expanding the electric lineup

However, Ferrari’s electric plans don’t stop there. The sources also revealed that a second electric Ferrari is currently in the early stages of development. This additional EV model is expected to help boost the output at Ferrari’s e-building facility.

Increased production capacity

In 2023, Ferrari’s plant output was less than 14,000 vehicles. But with the introduction of the new electric models, the company aims to reach an output of around 20,000 vehicles. The factory will be responsible for the production of electric motors, inverters, and batteries for the upcoming EVs and hybrid models.

Ferrari’s broader electrification strategy

Ferrari’s electrification strategy is well underway, with the launch of its first plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the SF90 Stradale, last year. The company aims to have 60 percent of its sales be EVs or hybrids by 2026 as it works to transform its lineup to meet the growing demand for electrified vehicles.

Meanwhile, Ferrari’s rival, Lamborghini, has also unveiled its first 100 percent electric car, the Lanzador EV, which is expected to hit the market in 2028. Lamborghini is also electrifying its entire lineup this year with the introduction of PHEV versions of the Huracan and Urus models.

The arrival of the first all-electric Ferrari is a significant milestone for the brand and the automotive industry as a whole. Car enthusiasts and luxury EV buyers alike will be eagerly awaiting the unveiling of this highly anticipated electric sports car.
