A state-of-the-art data hub was inaugurated in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Established by the Raxio Group, the nation’s largest data centre comes with Tier III accreditation from the Uptime Institute, a renowned international industry body. This milestone is expected to fortify the DRC’s burgeoning role in Africa’s digital transformation, as reported by the Associated Press (AP).

Dubbed Raxio DRC1, this cutting-edge facility is backed by a substantial $30 million investment and represents a pivotal step in the country’s strategy to drive digital inclusion, foster private sector growth, and transform public services through digitalization.

Located in the Limete district, on the southeastern side of Kinshasa, the two-story Raxio Data Centre spans an impressive 1,542 square metres. Its modern design can further accommodate up to 400 racks and reliably deliver 1.5MW of IT power to customer equipment.

Furthermore, the project was completed in record time, with construction beginning in early 2023.
